Martha League-Calhoun-now residing in Spicewood, Texas- has been working professionally for 15 years selling her art work, showing in exhibitions and teaching adults and children out of private studios all over Austin. Now a full time artist-living and working on the beautiful shores of Lake Travis-she never tires of subjects to paint and is very prolific in her work. Martha has sold hundreds of paintings nationwide and internationally and has just introduced a line of giclee prints.

Martha is also the owner of "League Studio and Gallery" nestled in the hills of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. Showing emerging and new artists and hosting monthly art events to bring the local community together, the gallery is a unique addition to the region. Working within the local community is very important as an inspiration for both children and adults to see art as a thriving entity.

In her latest series of "Wet Paintings" she works on very large canvases -some over 8 feet. Trying to capture the depths and surface of water simultaneously is what she strives for. She says she "has finally found that series which moves and defines" her and what she wants to represent. The importance is indescribable, but evident in her newest work, which can be viewed at www.WetPaintings.net.

Martha has worked in several different series in her career, overflowing with inspiration, each is unique and her own. From a very abstract contemporary "Ghost Ether" series to landscapes and figurative work- one subject to another-her drive is the satisfaction of the finished product.
